This is not how I intended my life to be. This is not the way I had planned my story. This is not what I imagined myself doing.
It is better.
Over eight years ago I met someone who completely changed my life. He showed me more love than I thought possible, He spoke words that hugged my very soul, He opened my eyes to see things like I’d never seen before. He did for me in a moment what no one else could do in a lifetime.
Let me introduce you to Him. His name is Jesus Christ. God’s Son. He paid an incredible price to make me His; He also paid for you. You see we are all born with sin (sin makes us disobey God)- every single one of us. Don’t believe me? I challenge you to spend an hour with a small child. Sin keeps us from having a deep, personal relationship with God. There’s nothing we can do ourselves to get rid of it and God knew that so he made a way. His Way was the Lord Jesus who came to die on the cross and pay the price for our sins. Jesus didn’t stay dead…3 days later He rose from the dead showing that He is more powerful than anything in this world. He ascended back to Heaven and is alive forevermore.
I gave my life to the Lord Jesus and from that moment on my life has been one incredible adventure. Like all adventures it has ups and downs. I’m far from perfect but I love knowing that I don’t have to be because Jesus is.
My name’s Laura and I’m 24 years old. My adventure with Jesus started in my homeland of Northern Ireland but is now happening in Napanee, Canada where I am serving as a missionary. I tell terrible jokes that I think are hilarious. I usually burst out in song mid-sentence and will likely expect you join in. I will randomly ask people on the street if I can pet their dog (I learned the hard way that you have to ask first). The quickest way to my heart is to tell me all about yourself, send me a link to a blog and bring me a medium Vanilla Bean Iced Latte from Tim Hortons 😉
‘Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.’ Psalm 95:6-7
